Family Misson Statement (part 1) ~ Day 8

Sorry today's post is so late. James has been off so we've been having lots of family time. I do so love long weekends. I hope yours was wonderful too.

This week I thought I'd share with you something special James and I worked on recently. We made a family mission statement. A mission statement is great because it really helps unify our vision for our family. We asked one another questions like:

  • What are our priorities?
  • If our home could be filled with one emotion, what would it be?
  • What characteristics do we want our children to have as they grow up?
  • If we had a completely free day together as a family, how would we spend it?
  • Where are you as a family in 10 years? What does your home look like?

We used our answers to come up with our statement and vision for our family. I'll share what we chose and why through out the week. If you want more resources for creating your own family mission statement there are great blogs on it here and here.

  1. Sweet Ashley,
I looovveee that you and your husband have created a mission statement for your family. I want to share this with my two children and their spouses in hope and prayer that they too would see the importance. Each time you have a post, I am more and more inspired by the fact that there are young women out there who put Christ first in their life and in their families' lives. Zep. 3:17 is one of my absolute favorite scriptures; I often tell my oldest grandson, Nicholas, who will be 5 in Dec., that God delights in the fact that he did or does (whatever is nice or good)....... and that He is rejoicing by singing over him up in Heaven. I know that I know He is delighted in you, gal.
    Prov. 11:25,

    1. Hello Mema Jeanne. I missed your kind words over the past few days. Did you have a nice weekend?
It's an honor that you would share this with your children. I can only hope God would use me to encourage others.
Zep. 3:17 is one of my favorites too. I'd like to believe he's delighted in me too. That is definitely my hearts desire.
Always a pleasure to hear from you.
      Ashley
